Jimmy Foote, the corporate pilot for Vector Transport in Tupelo, was cited for his actions in coming to the rescue of a plane last month.

The pilot of the aircraft had gone unconscious after suffering hypoxia, or altitude sickness. In the plane was his daughter.

Foote, who was flying with his boss, Joe Estess, got on the radio frequency to help her take the plane to a lower altitude. There, her father managed to wake up and eventually land the plane.

Had it not been for Foote, the results could have been disastrous.
