JACKSON - Gov. Haley Barbour has appointed Dr. Sue Matheson of Pass Christian and Kami Bumgarner of Madison to the State Board of Education.

The appointments, announced Tuesday, take effect immediately.

Matheson is superintendent of the Pass Christian School District. She replaces Dr. David Sistrunk and her term will end June 30, 2014.

Bumgarner is an English and social studies teacher at Madison Middle School. She replaces Sondra Caillavet and her term will end June 30, 2018.
