Blue Mountain drops two baseball games in Arkansas

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - Two big innings by Williams Baptist College here Wednesday cost Blue Mountain College two games.

With BMC leading 3-2, WBC scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to win the opener 5-4. In the nightcap, the Eagles were holding a 4-2 lead then broke out for five runs in the fourth inning and sealed a 10-4 victory.

Seth Kennedy had four hits in the first game for the Toppers and Matthew Kirk had two. Ben Wallis had a two-run home run in the top of the first, and Hunter Mize had a double for BMC. James Mitchell paced WBC, 9-20, with two hits.

In the second game, WBC's Mitchell Dennis had four hits and four runs batted in to pace the Eagles' 14-hit attack. For BMC, Wallis, Parker James and Nate Bell had two hits. Wallis, Bell and Jake Littlejohn had doubles and Bell had a triple.

The Toppers, now 14-23, travel to Batesville, Ark. to face Lyon College in a Friday-Saturday TranSouth Athletic Conference series.
