TUPELO - A health care rally drew only four people to U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker's office Thursday.

Sponsored by MoveOn, a national public policy advocacy organization, the rally was intended to support expanded health care for the poor.

Organizer James Hull said 100 e-mail invitations were sent but wasn't surprised by the turnout.

Hull said the location had nothing to do with Wicker personally. "It is not a protest for or against him," Hull said. "It's from his desk that this dialogue will have to proceed."

No one showed up because, instead of our senators listening to what we (the people) want, they keep the airways jammed with what they intend to see that we (the people) are going to get. By electing Obama president it should be becoming more clear that we (the people) will express our wishes at the ballot box. By the way, when are you up for re-election, Senator? Are you aware that by not supporting a government option health care bill will affect huge numbers of your voters quality of life?

Great point there pddigi...Seems there are generally less of the liberal constituency that actually shows up for scheduled events such as this--than is actually predicted by the media BEFORE and even reported AFTER the event...

Now there are as many comments as there were supporters at this "rally". Maybe people aren't as clueless as the left would like to believe.

maybe it's because we already pay for healthcare for the poor through Medicaid and higher prices because they don't pay their hospital bills?

Move on, MoveOn....socialized medicine is a BAD idea.
