HATTIESBURG - ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is returning to Mississippi to help a yet-unnamed family in the Hattiesburg area.

Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree said at a news conference Thursday that five families are under consideration as recipients of the building blitz.

Host Ty Pennington and his design team will arrive in the south Mississippi city Dec. 3 and surprise one of the families with a knock on the door.

The show will work with builder David Thompson of AAA Homes of MS to recruit and lead a team of volunteers to build a new home is less than a week.

In 2006, the show built a new home for Sabrena Jones and her three children in the central Mississippi city of Brandon.
