OXFORD – Roberts Wilson Jr.'s multi-million-dollar lawsuit against imprisoned ex-attorney Richard "Dickie" Scruggs has come to an end – it's been settled, Wilson's attorney, Charlie Merkel of Clarksdale tells the Daily Journal.

Wilson sued Scruggs and others, accusing them of not paying what he was owed years ago for his part in national asbestos litigation. He also claimed they owed him for using his fees to bankroll other national lawsuits, which yielded mega-fees for the attorneys involved.

Today's revelation relates to an settlement with Scruggs, his son Zach and various companies they owned. The amount is confidential, said Merkel.

Wilson, formerly of Jackson, lives in Alabama and last summer attended the guilty-plea hearing for former Hinds circuit judge Bobby DeLaughter, who insists he was never bribed when he presided over the original Wilson v. Scruggs lawsuit in Hinds County.

Friday, DeLaughter will be sentenced to prison for admitting he lied to the FBI when they investigated his relationship with Scruggs in the lawsuit.

thats how it is for high profile people, get out or even a slap on the hand for all that wrong doing.it's sad to know that we have a very favorable system!go to the court house and set and watch how the system throw away people for 10,20,30,and 40 years.judge thomas gardner gave a man 242 years.im not saying that these people shouldnt be punished but be equal regadless of any skin tone, voice, race,or gender.mississippi has been this way for years and with the circle of cowboys we have in the northeastern area of mississippi is the best at looking out for each other.you know that buddy buddy system,it say in the bible"that all good things will come to an END!!!!!!!!!these things with scruggs, delaughter, baducci, and the rest of the young guns is just the start of the dominos falling.im going to end this with a famous phrase by sir newton(for every action theres an opposite and equal reaction)!so over the next year watch and see who the rest of the dominos reveal!
