Mississippi State and Ole Miss hook up in the annual Egg Bowl next week. But if you like, you can come to Tupelo to get the rivalry juices flowing a little early.

The Bulldogs and Rebels will square off Friday and Monday, 7 p.m. both nights, at BancorpSouth Arena … in hockey. You heard me right. Hockey. Both schools have club teams. I knew MSU did, was not aware Ole Miss did as well. Admission is $5 at the door.

It won’t be the first time they’ve played. So go check it out. They’re hoping for a record crowd, which would mean more than 1,200 people.
