On February 3, 2010, Monroe County Deputies arrested Leslie D. Bryant and charged him with Sale of a Controlled Substance. Bryant was indicted in 2009 by a Monroe County Grand Jury during a undercover narcotics investigation by Monroe County Deputies and Agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit. On February 3, 2010, Mississippi Department of Corrections officers performed a home visit on Terry Causey at 30050 Causey Road in Nettleton. Once inside the residence, MDOC officers discovered methamphetamine and items used to manufacture crystal meth. MDOC officers contacted Monroe County Deputies and Agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit to assist. Arrested was: Terry Causey 52yoa 30050 Causey Road Nettleton, Ms: charged with: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crystal Meth) and Possession of Precursors with intent to Manufacture. Causey was on House Arrest for a previous charge of Possession of Controlled Substance and Manufacturing Methamphetamine Causey was not elligble for bond and has been transported to the Rankin County Correctional Facility
A Lee County man wanted for possession of precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and felony fleeing was apprehended in an adjoining county Wednesday, after eluding state and local narcotics agents for four months, according to a Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics official. MBN Director Marshall Fisher said agents, acting on a tip, located 32-year-old Jason Scott Galloway of Shannon at a friend’s Houlka residence in Chickasaw County. The ensuing consensual search of the friend’s residence turned up a small amount of methamphetamine along with meth precursor chemicals. As a result, agents charged Galloway with possession of methamphetamine and possession of two or more precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine. Galloway was transported to the Chickasaw County Jail, where he was awaiting an initial court appearance. Participating in the investigation were the MBN, North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office.
Jackson, MS—A former professional athlete is going to jail afterfailing to pay his chilld support, said Attorney General Jim Hood. Roosevelt D. Linston, (age 40), of 1823 Holmes Street, Tupelo, had hisprobation revoked today for leaving the state of Mississippi and notpaying his Court ordered child support. Oktibbeha County Circuit CourtJudge James T. Kitchens, Jr. ordered Linston to pay $600 today andplaced him into the custody of the Mississippi Department of Correctionsuntil the arrearage amount of $16,500.00 is paid in full. Linston willspend six months in prison and then be moved to the GreenwoodRestitution Center. He was originally sentenced to five years, suspended, in May, 2009, forFelony Non-Support of a Child before Judge Kitchens. “The Judge was trying to give this defendant a chance to do the rightthing, pay what he owed and avoid jail time,” said Attorney GeneralHood. " This deadbeat dad did not take care of his responsibility, sohe is going to jail." Linston is a former European League Basketball player. Child Desertion Unit Director, Special Assistant Attorney GeneralDeshun T. Martin, handled this case for the Attorney General’s Office.
