Tupelo High School linebacker Daimon Dillard signed a national letter of intent last week to play for William Penn University, an NAIA school in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Dillard, a 5-foot-10, 235-pound defender, recorded 95 tackles last season for the Golden Wave.

“This is a good opportunity for him,” THS defensive coordinator Lamar Aldridge said. “He’s a good, strong tackler.”

William Penn finished 10-1 last season and won the Midwest League. The team is ranked No. 8 in the nation in the preseason NAIA rankings.
