Retired Marshall County police chief dies in crash

HOLLY SPRINGS - The funeral for retired Holly Springs Police Chief Robert W. Pearson will be at 11 a.m. today.

Pearson, 69, died in a motorcycle accident Sunday on Highway 4 just east of Holly Springs. Services will be at Doxey Auditorium on the campus of Rust College.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Pearson's motorcycle veered off the north side of Highway 4 East.

The cause of the accident and death is under investigation.
